Mikel Arteta finally gives real reason why Mesut Ozil isn’t starting Arsenal games
Mesut Ozil is yet to step on the pitch since the Premier League restarted and Mikel Arteta has provided the real reason why he made that decision.

The Premier League restarted a month ago and it’s still surprising how Mesut Ozil is yet to play since it begun even though he had started all the previous PL games under Mikel Arteta. The Arsenal head coach has for the first time given a real answer as to why Ozil hasn’t been getting minutes.
It all started In Arsenal’s first game against Manchester City a month ago when the lineups were announced and then Mikel Arteta said before the game that he had made this decision to leave the 31 year old out due to tactical reasons. Ozil was on the bench in Arsenal’s loss to Brighton & Hove Albion but was however not used and he has since then never appeared even on the bench with the club saying that he has a back soreness but everyone knew that the injury might not be the reason he isn’t playing anymore.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has spent the last few weeks saying that he would handle the situation of Mesut Ozil internally but he has today opened up about the real reason why the German international is not playing. Arteta confirmed that Ozil is training and that the reason he isn’t playing is due to pure football reasons as he plays players that can be able to provide the best balance in and out of the field.
“I haven’t done the squad yet, but he’s in training. Pure football reasons. My decision is always that. My only ambition is to put out the best squad, the best players that give us the best balance in and out of the field and the best possible chance to win the game.” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal Media.
Mesut Ozil isn’t the only player that is yet to appear in the squad since the Brighton game as Matteo Guendouzi is also in the same boat and Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he is not using the both of them due to the above comment.
