Arsenal have been pretty moderate in this summer transfer window as they have only completed the signing of two players and have not seen many departures as expected by everyone when the 2019/20 season ended. It has been reported by many that Arsenal might have to sell before they can sign more players and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has commented on this.

Arsenal completed the signing of Willian on a free deal after Chelsea decided not to offer him a new deal and the gunners then later went on to sign Lille centre back Gabriel Magalhaes on a fee believed to be around €30million but they have since then been quiet in their transfer business apart from the departure of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.

The Arsenal supporters have started getting worried as the transfer window will close in two weeks from now and they are yet to strengthen their midfield or get another goalkeeper since Emiliano Martinez will need a replacement as Matt Macey is not experienced. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta faced the press yesterday to talk about their game against West Ham United but he also answered this question hinting at that it might be true that they might need to sell some players to bring in new comings. Arteta hint at that by saying that it will go both ways.

“We are trying all the time to adjust the squad in the most efficient way. It is clear at the moment that it has to go both ways and in order to achieve that we still have some time but we are pretty clear in what we are trying to do.” Arteta told Arsenal Player.

Arsenal have so far been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and Lyon star Houssem Aouar as midfield targets and it’s also reported that they could be in for Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson in the goalkeeping area.
