Arsenal welcomed Fulham to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday with the hope of beating them to get closer to the Premier League top six but they were only able to get one point after the visitors held them to a 1-1 draw. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken out on whether he believes his side should have walked away with all the three points.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said before the game that he firmly believes that the gunners should not put all their focus on the UEFA Europa League and that they would still try to do well in the league, the fans were looking forward to seeing him show this and he did select a strong squad for the game against relegation fighting Fulham despite the few rotations.

Arsenal started the game on a perfect note as they almost scored via two chances of Gabriel Martinelli, they then later in the first half saw their goal get controversially ruled offside. The gunners went behind in the second half due to a penalty goal by Maja and despite creating many chances, they were only able to get their equaliser through Eddie Nketiah in the 97th minute. Arteta has claimed that he believes that they deserved all the three points since they created enough chances to win the game.

“Arsenal deserved three points, without a doubt. You have to respect every opinion but you ask me my opinion and I tell you that we totally deserved to win the match, and you have to look back at the chances we created, two goals disallowed, and we conceded with one shot on target.” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal’s official website.

I am a very stubborn person who is always very argumentative in football discussions but I always win. I like writing about transfer news most.
