Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title were dashed on Saturday evening as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The Gunners were in a fierce title race with Manchester City but this defeat saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens, who currently have 85 points with a game in hand, while Arsenal has 81 points.

The match got off to a bad start for Arsenal as Taiwo Awoniyi scored in the 19th minute to put Nottingham Forest ahead. Morgan Gibbs-White provided the assist for the goal, which proved to be the only one of the game.

Despite having most of the possession and making many attempts on goal, Arsenal were unable to find the back of the net. The team’s attacking duo of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus were both unable to have an impact on the game as as the Gunners struggled to create clear-cut chances.

Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, defended resolutely and held on for a crucial win. The victory sees them move up to 16th position on the Premier League table with 37 points hence confirming their safety from relegation.

For Arsenal, this defeat is a bitter blow as they were hoping to win their first Premier League title since 2004. However, manager Mikel Arteta can take heart from his team’s overall performance this season. The Gunners have been in excellent form this season.

Overall, this was a disappointing result for Arsenal, who will now have to settle for second place in the Premier League. Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, will be delighted with their win.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
