Arsenal announce their player of the season along who took second and third place
Arsenal had a fruitful season at the Emirates Stadium as they finished second on the Premier League table and the club has announced their player of the season.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been named the club’s player of the season after receiving 55% of all votes cast. The Norwegian midfielder had an outstanding campaign, scoring 15 goals and providing 7 assists for the Gunners in the Premier League..
Odegaard’s performances were crucial to Arsenal’s bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title. The Gunners were in a fierce title race with Manchester City, but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Arsenal ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City finished with 89 points, making them this year’s Premier League champions.
Despite not winning the title, Odegaard’s contribution to Arsenal cannot be overstated. He was instrumental in many of their victories and was a constant threat to opposition defenses. His ability to create chances and score goals from midfield made him a fan favorite at the Emirates Stadium.
Odegaard’s closest competitors for the award were Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Saka scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for Arsenal in the Premier League, while Martinelli scored 15 goals and provided 5 assists.
Saka and Martinelli also had impressive seasons, but it was Odegaard who stood out as Arsenal’s best player. His leadership qualities as captain were evident on and off the pitch, and he played a vital role in keeping his teammates motivated throughout the season.
Despite not winning any silverware this season, Arsenal fans will be encouraged by their team’s progress under manager Mikel Arteta. The Gunners led the league table for ten months this season before ultimately falling short in their bid for glory.
With Odegaard leading from midfield, Arsenal will be hoping to mount another challenge for next year’s Premier League title. The Norwegian midfielder has proven himself to be one of Europe’s most talented young players, and his performances for Arsenal this season have only enhanced his reputation.
