Arsenal’s Arteta responds to PSG’s plea to make him their new manager
Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new boss in the 2019 summer transfer window and he has given a response to PSG who wish to appoint him as their new manager.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have been on the lookout for a new manager since the departure of Christophe Galtier earlier this month. The French giants have been linked with several high-profile names, However, a new name has emerged in the race for the PSG job – Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta.
According to reports by RMC Sport, PSG sporting director Luis Campos had spoken with Arteta about the vacant PSG manager’s job. However, Arteta is fully focused on Arsenal and feels good about his project with the Gunners. The Spaniard has been at Arsenal since December 2019 and has made significant progress in rebuilding the club.
Last season, Arsenal were in a fierce title race with Manchester City in a bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title. However, a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Arsenal ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City finished with 89 points. Manchester City are this year’s Premier League Champions, while the Gunners will have to settle for second place even though they had led the league table for 10 months this season.
Despite missing out on the Premier League title, Arteta has done an impressive job at Arsenal. He has brought stability to a club that was struggling under his predecessor Unai Emery. Under Arteta’s guidance, Arsenal won their first major trophy in three years when they lifted the FA Cup some time back.
Arteta has also overseen significant changes at Arsenal both on and off the pitch. He has implemented a new playing style that emphasizes possession-based football and high pressing. He has also brought in several young players such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe who have become key members of his squad.
It is no surprise that PSG are interested in Arteta. The Spaniard has shown that he has the potential to become one of the best managers in Europe. However, it is clear that Arteta is committed to Arsenal and wants to continue his project with the Gunners. Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear that their manager is fully focused on the club and is not looking for a move away anytime soon.
