Odegaard reveals some good news that Arsenal fans would love to hear
Arsenal midfielder and captain Martin Odegaard has opened up about his future at the Emirates Stadium and made comments that will make fans happy.
Arsenal midfielder and captain Martin Odegaard has revealed his thoughts on starting new deal talks with the club. The 24-year-old Norwegian international, who scored 15 goals and provided 7 assists in the recently concluded season, has said that he is happy at Arsenal and hopes to stay for a long time.
Speaking to Tv2, Odegaard said, “I’m very happy at Arsenal and I hope to stay here for a long time. Let’s see on contract situation after the summer.” He also added, “I didn’t speak to Arsenal, it’s not on me honestly; no rush, my contract is still long.”
This news will come as a relief to Arsenal fans who were worried about losing one of their key players this summer. Odegaard joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in January and has been a vital part of their midfield ever since.
Arsenal were in a fierce title race with Manchester City in a bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Arsenal ended the season with 84 points while Manchester City finished with 89 points. Manchester City are this year’s Premier League Champions. The gunners will have to settle for second place even though they had led the league table for 10 months this season.
Odegaard’s performances have been one of the highlights of Arsenal’s season and his potential signing on a permanent deal would be a huge boost for Mikel Arteta’s side going forward.
It remains to be seen whether or not Arsenal will make an offer for Odegaard this summer but the midfielder’s comments suggest that he is open to staying at the club. Arsenal fans will be hoping that the club can tie him down to a long-term deal and build a team around him for years to come.
