Arsenal’s new summer signing, Declan Rice, has expressed his ambitions and hopes for his debut season as a Gunner. The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined Arsenal from West Ham in a record-breaking transfer deal worth £105 million, is determined to help the club end their Premier League title drought.

Rice acknowledges the success that Arsenal has achieved under manager Mikel Arteta, including winning the Community Shields and FA Cups. However, he believes it is time for the club to aim higher and deliver league titles. Speaking to Sky Sports, Rice said, “It’s been such a long time now since Arsenal won a Premier League. Last year was so close, I feel like we’re better off now this year learning from that experience.”

The talented midfielder is confident that with the right mindset and determination, Arsenal can challenge for the title this season. He believes that once the team finds its rhythm and starts winning games consistently, they will be able to build momentum and compete at the highest level. Rice also emphasizes the importance of understanding Arteta’s tactics and playing style in order to improve as an individual player.

“I just want to improve, want to learn, want to get better,” Rice stated. “I want to understand how the manager wants to play. I want to understand the others and how they play.” He firmly believes in both himself and his teammates’ abilities and is optimistic about what they can achieve together.

In addition to Rice’s arrival at Arsenal, the club has made two other significant signings in this summer transfer window. They secured 24-year-old attacking midfielder Kai Havertz from Chelsea for £65 million and 22-year-old defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax in a deal worth €40 million plus €5 million add-ons.

With these new additions to their squad, Arsenal is looking stronger than ever. The club’s ambition is evident as they aim not only for domestic success but also for glory in the Champions League. Rice firmly believes that Arsenal should enter the prestigious competition with the intention of winning it, rather than merely participating.

As the new season approaches, Arsenal fans will be eagerly anticipating the impact of their summer signings. The club’s ambition to challenge for major honors is clear, and with players like Rice, Havertz, and Timber on board, there is genuine hope for a successful campaign.

Only time will tell if Arsenal can fulfill their aspirations and end their Premier League title drought. However, with a talented squad and a determined mindset, they are certainly heading in the right direction. As Rice aptly puts it, “I really believe in this squad. I believe in the manager & of course with me as well. So just hoping it’s a successful season, but time will tell.”
