Arsenal fans can breathe a sigh of relief as respected journalist Charles Watts has confirmed that manager Mikel Arteta will be offered a new contract this summer. Despite having just one year remaining on his current deal, the Gunners are confident in securing their manager’s long-term future at the Emirates.

“Talks will happen between Arsenal & Mikel Arteta over a new contract this summer. Yes, he now only has a year left on his contract, but I have no doubt that he will sign an extension before the start of the 2024/25 campaign,” Watts revealed on Caught Offside.

While there have been tentative links to other clubs, particularly Barcelona, Watts believes that Arteta’s immediate future is firmly at Arsenal. “There have been tentative links to others clubs, especially Barcelona, but there is nothing in that right now. I’m sure he will go there one day, but not for a while yet. His immediate future is very much at Arsenal. He is well aware that the job in North London is far from done.”

Arteta has transformed Arsenal since his appointment in 2019, guiding the club back to the top of English football. His commitment to building a young, dynamic team, coupled with his tactical acumen, has been instrumental in their recent resurgence. The news of a new contract is sure to be welcomed by Arsenal supporters, who are eager to see Arteta continue his work and build on the team’s promising foundations.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
