After a successful 2023/24 season that saw Arsenal secure a commendable 2nd place finish with 89 points, the Gunners are gearing up for changes ahead of the summer transfer window. Amidst this backdrop, manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly given the green light for the sale of midfielder Thomas Partey.

The decision to offload Partey comes in the wake of Arteta’s choice to extend Jorginho’s contract by another year, signaling a shift in midfield dynamics at the Emirates Stadium. The Metro UK reports that Arsenal are prepared to bid farewell to the Ghanaian international due to his ongoing struggles with fitness issues, compounded by his impending 31st birthday next month.

Partey, who joined Arsenal in 2020 with high expectations, has faced challenges in maintaining peak physical condition over recent seasons. Despite flashes of brilliance on the field, his inconsistent availability has prompted Arteta and the club hierarchy to make the tough call of letting him go.

As Arsenal look to build on their impressive league campaign and close the gap on champions Manchester City, Arteta seems determined to reshape his squad for future challenges. The departure of Partey marks a significant move in this restructuring process, as the Gunners aim to reinforce their midfield options and address areas that need strengthening ahead of the upcoming season.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
