Revealed: The Ideal Danny Welbeck Replacement
Danny Welbeck under went an operation on Friday after his ankle got broken on Thursday at the Emirates Stadium.
Loanee Reiss Nelson could be the perfect replacement for injured Danny Welbeck. Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck was stretched off during their 0-0 draw in the Europa League and fears have mounted that he could miss the rest of the season though no confirmation has been made on his return date.
Welbeck who has made a few appearances this season, scoring 5 goals is a key figure in the team although many fans would doubt. He can play wide on the left as well as through the middle as a center forward. Since Emery found a way to integrate Aubameyang and Lacazette in the starting eleven, Welbeck is the only back up striker on the bench. Under-23 striker Eddie Nketiah has been called up to fill his role in the squad for now.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of players like Nicolas Pepe and even a swap deal with Roma for forward Patrik Schick with Ramsey going the other way, but haven’t considered an early return for Reiss Nelson.
The 18-year-old is in stunning form netting 6 goals in 7 appearances for German side Hoffenheim, the recent in a 2-1 win over Augsburg. Nelson is talented and gifted with pace enabling him to play as a striker or on the wings.
As the winter transfer window looms closer we’ll find out whether Emery will splash the cash on a new forward or recall his wonder kid Nelson or simply remain contended with his attacking options.
