Emery receives a massive injury boost ahead of upcoming new season
The new season will kick off in a few weeks’ time and Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery has received a major injury boost while on their pre-season tour.
The Premier League will be returning in a few weeks from now and Arsenal head coach Unai Emery will be hoping that most of his star players that are on the sidelines will have returned as this will be an important season where the club start asking questions about his coaching.
Arsenal defender Rob Holding got injured last year and he has been on the sidelines for months and the gooners believe that their chances of getting a top four finish would have been a bit more if he had stayed fit throughout the whole campaign. Holding under went a knee surgery and he has made significant progress in his recovery as he was yesterday at the training pitch with the rest of his teammates.
The Daily Mail reports that Rob Holding has given Unai Emery a huge injury boost ahead of the upcoming season as it claims that the Englishman could make his return in Arsenal’s friendly game against Barcelona on 4th of August. This game will be played a week before the Premier League kicks off and Arsenal’s boss Unai Emery will definitely be delighted to have Rob Holding available for selection when they make a visit to the St. James Park to face Newcastle United.
Rob Holding showed last season that he is a player that suits Unai Emery’s playing style as he is comfortable on the ball and could play out of the back, so him making a quick return than earlier expected is good news for the North Londoners who are currently short of centre backs.
Arsenal’s captain Laurent Koscielny could leave this summer and as well as Mustafi as reports suggest that the club want to sell him, then Rob Holding’s return and a new centre back would be a great summer for the gunners.
