Arteta speaks out on Saka’s contract situation and Nketiah’s importance
Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka is yet to renew his deal and Arteta has spoken out on it and Nketiah’s importance in the squad.

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has been impressive this season as he has gone from just being a young player trying to break into the first team to an important player that most always want in the starting eleven but the gooners are however worried about his contract situation as his deal will expire next year.
Bukayo Saka has been impressive under Mikel Arteta in the left back position despite being naturally winger and it’s still not certain what position he will play when the season restarts on Wednesday as the two left backs in Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac that were injured are now available. Arsenal will on Wednesday face Manchester City and so Mikel Arteta had a virtual press conference in which he was asked about the Bukayo Saka contract situation.
Arteta then explained that extending Saka’s contract is also a priority like that of Aubameyang and claimed that the club was working on it and that the club would announce when everything is ready.
“We are trying, as a club, to finalise the deals that are more urgent and are a priority for us. The ones you are talking about [Bukayo and Auba] – they are both really important, not just for now but for the future of the club as well and if the club has something to announce, they will do it in the right moment.” Arteta told Arsenal’s official websiteArsenal’s official website.

Eddie Nketiah got recalled from loan in the January transfer window and this has turned out to be a great idea as the young Englishman has scored twice since he got included in the squad. Mikel Arteta was also asked about the importance of Nketiah in the Arsenal squad and he said that he believes that the young striker is a player that will impress in the way he wants his side to play.
“We treat Eddie as an important part of our squad, we had to make a very important decision not to let him go out on loan again after the spell he had at Leeds.” said Arteta.
“I watched him train and I am convinced that he is the right player for us, to move us to the next level and that he can contribute in a big way to the way we want to play. He has been fantastic so far.”
