Arsenal have been heavily linked with Thomas Partey in the last few months but there hasn’t been any official movement as per this usually reported transfer saga. It is well understood that Partey has been offered a new deal by Atletico Madrid and there was some rumour that he had signed it but a new report has provided some information about those claims.

Thomas Partey has been at Atletico Madrid for seven years and he has been one of the best central midfielders in this 2019/20 campaign with some great notable performances such as the two legged tie against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. Partey has been mostly been linked with a move to Arsenal but the gooners were a few days ago stunned with bad news when a report from Ghana claimed that the Ghanaian international had agreed to sign a new deal with Atletico Madrid.

The Arsenal fans have today received good news as those reports from Ghana have been denied by Goal.com journalist Charles Watts as he has claimed that a source close to Atletico Madrid and Thomas Partey has claimed that they can’t confirm that the 26 year old midfielder has signed the new deal as per their sources. This comes as a huge relief to Arsenal supporters because they want to see Thomas Partey at the Emirates Stadium next season as they believe he could be the player that takes them to the next level.

Thomas Partey has a release clause of €50million and so the gunners will need to pay the full amount at once, hence making the deal difficult for Arsenal but Mikel Arteta has repeatedly been urging the club to invest in the summer transfer window since they won’t be able to compete with the current top clubs in the Premier League since its hard to do so when you don’t have quality players. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal will be able to get the funds for Partey but the fans can be hopeful since most reports have claimed that the player would love to come to England to play for them.
