Report: Mikel Arteta reportedly identifies Partey and two positions that need new signings
The summer transfer window will be opening in a few days from now and Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has identified Partey and two positions that will need new signings.
The summer transfer window will open at the end of this month and Arsenal will be one of the clubs that will be expected to be busy since they will want to strengthen their squad after having had a horrible 2019/20 campaign. It’s now being reported that Arteta will want to sign Thomas Partey and bring new players to fit some other two positions.
Arsenal have in the last few months been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as its said that Mikel Arteta has made him his main summer transfer target because he believes that the Ghanaian international would not only solidify his midfield but would also let him to start regularly playing his favourite 4-3-3 formation. A report from England has revealed the other positions that Arteta will be looking to improve.
A report by Goal.com claims that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has identified Thomas Partey as a summer target and that he will also try to bring in a new centre back and an attacking midfielder since these three roles have been a huge headache for them this season. It doesn’t come as a big surprise that Arteta will try to get Partey, a centre back and an attacking midfielder because they’ve been so poor at defending and attacking in this campaign. Arteta also did recently say in one of his press conferences that you need to have a world-class centre back, central midfielder and attacking midfielder to compete with the current top 2 in the Premier League.
It is still unknown if Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will be given the funds to sign players to fill these three needs that he wants but most reports have claimed that the chances of them making higher moves in the summer transfer window would be a bit higher if they make it Europe. Arsenal are currently in the ninth position but they can still qualify for UEFA Europa League and can also do so if they win the Emirates FA Cup.
