Arsenal receive bad news regarding Martin Odegaard’s transfer
Arsenal had hopes of bringing Odegaard back to north London.
Arsenal’s chances of signing Odegaard have taken a major blow with the player confirming that he is set to return to Real Madrid as per Eurosport.
Odegaard joined Arsenal on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 season and displayed some impressive performances that caught Arteta eye.
Arteta was a big fan of the 22-year-old Norwegian playmaker and wanted to keep him however, he is highly valued by his parent club.
Under Zinedine Zidane Odegaard was deprived off playing time which made him opt for a move elsewhere, now the Spanish giants have appointed Carlo Ancelotti and Odegaard is expected to be in his plans.
This is more bad news for Arsenal having missed out on Emiliano Buendia who signed for Aston Villa and now Odegaard set to stay at Real Madrid.
Arsenal’s playmaker options have been cut short and will have to look elsewhere. The Gunners are likely to be priced out of a move for Leicester’s James Maddison who is valued at £80m.
