Saliba reveals why he’s unhappy despite Arsenal beating Nottingham Forest
Arsenal started their season in high spirits with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest and William Saliba has revealed why he is still unhappy.
Arsenal’s young centre back, William Saliba, expressed his dissatisfaction despite the team’s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium. The 22-year-old defender was disappointed that they conceded a goal late in the game.
Saliba acknowledged that starting the season with a win is always a positive outcome. He recognized that winning the first game in the league is never easy and commended his team for their performance. However, he couldn’t overlook the fact that they let in a goal in the last 10 minutes of the match.
In an interview with Arsenal’s official website, Saliba said, “It was really good to start the season with a win. It’s never easy to win the first game in the league, and we have done a good game. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the last 10 minutes but it’s okay, we learn and will improve for the next game.”
Despite his disappointment, Saliba emphasized that this victory gives them confidence to start the season well. He also highlighted their strong start to last season and expressed their desire to continue winning in subsequent games.
The match against Nottingham Forest saw Arsenal take an early lead with Eddie Nketiah scoring in the 26th minute after an impressive turn and pass from Gabriel Martinelli. Bukayo Saka extended their lead with a fantastic strike from just outside the box in the 32nd minute.
However, Forest managed to pull one back in the 82nd minute through Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal, making it a nervy ending for Arsenal. Nevertheless, they held on to secure all three points.
