The Emirates FA Cup is just a few days away and these are probably stressful hours for Mikel Arteta as winning the cup would turn their season from bad to atleast decent since it also gives a passage to the UEFA Europa League. We take a look at how Arsenal will set up against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea who finished the season in fourth place.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta seemed to imply that he would never change formations as Unai Emery when he had came in as he used the 4-2-3-1 formation throughout all his first games in charge but things changed after the Premier League restarted in June as he has since the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion changed to a back three and we believe he will use that same system seen in recent games in the FA Cup final.

ARTETA’S 3-4-3 SET UP/FORMATION

One of Arsenal’s main problems this season has been their defence and midfield and the gunners have seemed to have more protection for their centre backs after Arteta changed to a back three as usual suspect David Luiz is also nolonger making costly mistakes apart from the one last weekend but that can be disregarded as the gunners had used a back four to conclude the league campaign. The new system has allowed them to have more bodies in the midfield and this also helps their error prone centre backs to have more time in playing out of the back.

Arsenal have been solid in defence with their 3-4-3 formation and their attack hasn’t suffered due to this as they are scoring goals thanks to this system utilising wing backs that give support to the front three by bombing forward. The gunners have successfully used this system against the best two teams in the league i.e Liverpool and Manchester City and so Mikel Arteta will also use it against Chelsea as they are good in attacks but leave gaps behind that can easily be exploited by Arteta’s fast attackers like Aubameyang and Pepe.

So here is also the lineup that we believe Mikel Arteta will use on Saturday in the FA Cup final with the latest team news we have for now.
