Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his disappointment with the way his team conceded goals in their recent 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Despite taking the lead twice, Arsenal were unable to secure a victory and had to settle for a point.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Arteta acknowledged that mistakes are a part of football and that his team needs to learn from them. He said, “Obviously we are disappointed with the way we conceded the goals, but mistakes are part of football. We have to live with them.”

Arteta highlighted the emotional difficulty of conceding immediately after scoring their second goal. He stated, “We feel like we lost two points. Score the [second] goal, then straight away, you concede. Emotionally, I think that was a difficult one to take.”

The Arsenal manager also admitted that his team struggled for a period of 10-15 minutes during the match and lacked composure with the ball. He described it as turning the game into a “basketball game.” However, he praised his players’ efforts in pushing for a winner in the final 15-20 minutes.

“We pushed, we pushed, we pushed,” Arteta said. “But we couldn’t get the winner.”

The draw against Tottenham sees Arsenal currently sitting in fifth position on the Premier League table with 14 points from six league games. While they would have preferred all three points from this highly anticipated North London derby, Arteta’s focus now turns towards learning from their mistakes and improving their performance in future matches.

As Arsenal continues their season, Arteta will be looking for more composure from his players and an ability to maintain control of matches even after taking the lead. With several key fixtures ahead, including challenging encounters against top teams, it is crucial for Arsenal to address these issues and find ways to secure victories rather than settling for draws.

Overall, while disappointed with their performance against Tottenham Hotspur, Mikel Arteta remains determined to rectify mistakes and guide Arsenal towards success in future matches.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
