It is well understood that Arsenal will try to sign a wide player in this summer transfer window and they have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea winger Willian whose contract at the Stamford Bridge has come to an end. It’s now being reported that Arsenal have officially started discussions with Willian.

Arsenal having confirmed their qualification to the UEFA Europa League have now started preparing for next season and it’s been reported that the gunners having been keeping tabs on the situation of Willian at Chelsea since it was being claimed that the Brazilian international was not happy with the new contract offer he was getting from his current club.

There has however been confirmation today that Willian has rejected the latest new contract offer from Chelsea and that the gunners have now started discussions with his representatives to try to sign him on a free transfer since he is out of contract this summer as per reliable Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano. Willian was not in the Chelsea squad that lost the FA Cup to Arsenal due to an injury but rumours claimed that Lampard might have kept him out due to fearing that he is mind wasn’t at ease due to all these transfer speculations.

Fabrizio Romano also claims that Barcelona are yet to also make an offer to Willian since it has been reported that they are also interested in the 31 year old winger. Arsenal will probably be positive that they will sign Willian since its believed that he might want to stay in London due to having a restaurant there and since he has been staying there for seven years now.

Willian scored nine goals as well as making seven assists in the Premier League last season and Mikel Arteta will probably believe that the Brazilian would be a great leader to his young wingers in the squad.
